Animal Rescue and Advocacy
There are so many organizations out there that fight to protect the rights of animals, fight for harsher laws that bring stronger sentencing for abusers and help bring awareness to to the plights of animals everywhere. This includes the innocent animals that are terrified and being used in experiments.

Help Stop Animal Cruelty and Abuse
*It has also been proven that those who intentionally commit such crimes are likely to perpetrate violence against humans. Animal abusers are 5 times more likely to harm other humans* |
Florida Statute 828.12 – Cruelty to animals: to unnecessarily overload, overdrive, torture, torment, deprive of necessary sustenance or shelter, or unnecessarily or cruelly beat, mutilate, or kill an animal, or cause the same to be done, or carry in or upon any vehicle, or otherwise, any animal in a cruel or inhumane manner.

I cannot stress enough the importance of having a cat carrier for the ride home when picking up your new addition. The carrier will also be necessary when taking them to the vet for shots and checkups. You should make the carrier one of your first purchases before picking up the new feline member of your family. This campaign will benefit the local shelter in Crestview, FL
When adopting your new cat or kitten you need a safe, sturdy way to transport them. They need to have a safe, comfortable place for the ride home. Cats are not keen on car rides. They are easily startled and they can be out of your arms in a second no matter how snugly you hold them. An unsecured cat or kitten makes for a potentially dangerous car ride.
My goal is to collect enough cat carriers for the local shelter to have on hand to utilize in a couple of ways. Some folks come to adopt a feline but neglect to bring a carrier.
Contact me via text at 850-826-8279 if you would like to donate one or more carriers to help felines in need.

- The shelter could loan them a carrier to be returned in a pre-determined time frame.
- The shelter can always use carriers for animal rescue emergencies.

Animal Rescues/Fosters and Wildlife Rescue
Working with animals who are strays, have a history of abuse, neglect and/or abandonment issues can be very challenging yet very rewarding.
I volunteered at Crestview Animal Services the day they held their grand opening and adoption event Saturday, August 20th. It was a huge success with 29 adoptions thanks to all the sponsors and those who made this day possible.
Below are just a few of the animals who were up for adoption.

PUPPY UPDATE:
AUG 3, 2022
The sweet mama surprised me and brought her two very active babies to her. I brought them inside and set up a safe space in my bathroom which was the safest place for them. I gave them soft food and EBSILAC puppy milk replacement.
They are very good eaters lol.

We Have Puppies!!
Last night (AUG 3, 2022) I had a surprise deliver when mama brought her two little ones to my place. The pups are very active. I observed them trying to nurse and mama moved away from them. We originally thought she possibly had Mastitis but it is now apparent that she has been trying to dry up. I brought them inside and they are set up in my bathroom for now. I am giving them soft food and EBSILAC puppy milk replacement. They are eating a little and that is really exciting.
I am incredibly grateful mama trusts me to let me take them inside to be safe. So very thankful permission is no longer needed from the property owner to find the puppies.
They have been outside since birth and really need to be vet checked ASAP. I am actively working on making that happen...

Something unprecedented happened last night (July 26, 2009) The mama ate and then went to relax on my front porch. I brought her out a soft sheet to lay on.
Minutes later the hound joined us!!
We relaxed just the three of us on the porch for just over 2 hours. This was exciting!
We are so much closer to getting them safer now.

The beautiful girl below is a new mama who had her pups on the other side of a chain link fence on property whose owner(s) is currently unknown. Lee has been caring for her until the land owner(s) can be found. She contacted Crestview Animal Services and they have been actively seeking the property owner(s) so permission can be given to legally access the area to secure mama and her pups. Until then, Lee is making sure this nursing mom has access to good food and water, and lots of loving. She is a very affectionate girl.
Lee connected with an extremely skittish yet sweet hound a few years ago thinking he was simply loose and wandered away from his home. Roberts took photos and began sharing on social media in attempts to find out who he belonged to. No one responded. She continued to do what she could for him each time he came around. She made another attempt to find out more about the dog on social media in localized groups. Eventually a couple people replied to her post and photo. They said he was the "Community Pet" (seriously???) and he hung around on different porches and sometimes people fed him. Anger set in and Roberts dug her heels in deeper to working with this dog to connect on a level of trust where she could get him the proper care he needed and eventually a loving home. How heartbreaking it is that no one cared enough to help this poor boy out off the streets all this time.
Lee is working with this sweet boy, gaining his trust, and it is her desire to have this sweet dog in the shelter, get much needed vet care and then into a foster home before extreme weather hits the area again.
